Current research interests: Dr. Turtureanu’s research uses a combination of field study, environmental modelling and remote sensing to characterize and predict environmental and climatic changes in mountain environments with a particular interest on grassland ecosystems in the Carpathians. Dr. Turtureanu also operates a remote network of soil climate sensors across the Southeastern Carpathians which support climate monitoring and adaptation initiatives in the region.
